Rainy Morning, Tour Montparnesse

We woke to a full-fledged rainstorm this morning. So pretty, but what to do on a rainy Saturday?
After a quick run across the street for a baguette, we sat down to figure out our next move.
The rain subsided, so we decided to head to Montparnesse to ride the fastest elevator in Paris in the Tour Montparnesse.
The train dropped us right at the foot of the tower, which is connected to a large mall. Except for the use of the 50centime bathroom, we steered clear of the mall.
Once up in the tower (only 38 seconds to climb 56 floors) the views of all of Paris were breathtaking. There are photos on the flickr stream, but none did real justice to the views. Technically, you could see the Eiffel Tower, but it was so grey and misty, the top got obstructed (just like Sutro Tower at home). We had ourselves a soda and looked down for places to see to plan out next spot.
